OVA
Description
Saber appears as a comedic reinterpretation of her original self. She works as a waitress at the Ahnenerbe café, wearing a maid outfit she misinterprets as standard modern work attire due to unfamiliarity with contemporary life. Her reserved and dignified nature contrasts sharply with humorous situations, often leading to flustered reactions like blushing and stuttering, especially when trying to express affection towards Shirou Emiya, which requires his initiative.

Her legendary traits are exaggerated for parody. An intense appreciation for food manifests as a comically large appetite, while her historical association with leadership and royalty translates into an obsession with lion-themed merchandise, including plush toys. Moments of jealousy surface, particularly directed at Illyasviel von Einzbern's close interactions with Shirou.

A key comedic device involves her distinctive ahoge. Physically removing this strand of hair triggers a transformation into "Saber Alter," characterized by darker clothing, pale features, yellow eyes, and a dominant, aggressive personality. This Alter state exerts an unusual influence, attracting male patrons at Ahnenerbe and rendering characters like Gilgamesh submissive and masochistic. Reversion occurs only when Shirou reattaches the ahoge.

She participates in the series' absurd events, including a game-show-style Holy Grail War competition and the chaotic "Holy Grail Grand Prix" race. Her attempts to navigate mundane tasks or social interactions often highlight her gullibility and lack of modern world experience, contributing to situational comedy. Her corrupted Saber Alter form appears briefly in the main OVA narrative when extreme frustration with Gilgamesh triggers the transformation.
