Description
Phoenix Ikki serves as the Bronze Saint of the Phoenix constellation. His character evolves significantly across story arcs, reaching pivotal moments in the Hades Chapter's Elysion segment.

Ikki's background starts with brutal training on Death Queen Island, endured to protect his younger brother Shun. This ordeal forged his unique Cosmo, fueled by rage, hatred, and aggression, yet fundamentally guided by loyalty to Shun, Athena, and his allies. His initial role as an antagonist in the Galaxian Wars shifts to a powerful, solitary ally in later conflicts.

During the Hades Chapter, Ikki enters the Underworld after Hades possesses Shun. Confronting the deity within his brother, he attempts to wrest Hades out but fails. Hades executes him as punishment and condemns his body to Cocytus, the eighth prison of Tartarus reserved for defiers of the gods. Ikki's Phoenix power enables resurrection, though the means differ: Pandora aids his escape in the manga, while he frees himself unaided in the anime.

Revived, Ikki confronts Pandora near the Wailing Wall. She entrusts him with her protective rosary, enabling him to traverse the lethal Hyperdimension unharmed—a necessity since his Phoenix Cloth lacks Athena's blood for full empowerment. Pandora's subsequent death hardens Ikki's resolve to fulfill her request for vengeance against the twin gods Hypnos and Thanatos. During his journey, the Phoenix Cloth manifests wings, allowing flight through the Hyperdimension to Elysion.

In Elysion, Ikki joins the Bronze Saints against Hades' forces. When Thanatos destroys their Cloths, the Gold Cloths intervene. Ikki dons the Leo Gold Cloth, reflecting his astrological alignment with Leo. This Cloth shatters too, but contact with Athena's blood catalyzes its evolution into the Phoenix God Cloth. Empowered by this divine armor, he aids the final assault on Hades' true body within the deity's temple.

Ikki's abilities include Phoenix Wings Rise (Hōyoku Tenshō), a physical attack channeling wind and heat, and Phoenix Illusion Demon Fist (Hō Genma Ken), which manipulates opponents' minds via illusions or traumatic memories. His resilience is legendary: each death and resurrection amplifies his power, and his Phoenix Cloth uniquely self-repairs. Awakening the Seventh Sense grants him combat prowess rivaling Gold Saints and Underworld Judges.

Beyond the Hades Chapter, Ikki appears in sequels like *Next Dimension*, journeying to a past Holy War, and *Omega*, maintaining his role as Athena's guardian.
