The late Edo period. Ukiyo-e artist Utagawa Kuniyoshi is celebrated as a master of warrior prints, yet his publishers demand only those commercially reliable battle scenes. Privately, Kuniyoshi longs to draw cats, his true passion. One day he stumbles upon a strange talking board—a smartphone from the Reiwa era. Enchanted, he dives headfirst into social media, becoming a smartphone addict.

Under the pressure of deadlines from his exacting publisher Kagakichi, Kuniyoshi now procrastinates by scrolling feeds, battling online critics, drawing inspiration from a helpful AI, and ignoring work to play with his beloved cat. This short comedy follows the anachronistic clash of a Tokugawa-era artist obsessed with feline art and a modern digital world he enthusiastically but clumsily embraces. Over two volumes, the manga chronicles his daily mishaps with selfies, viral posts, and the absurdity of an old-school painter adapting to internet culture while still trying to satisfy his publisher’s demands.
