Daniel Abundis is a Mexican actor and director of dubbing with a career spanning over three decades in the entertainment industry. Born on September 1, 1967, in Coyoacán, Mexico City, his full name is Daniel Abundis Canales. His journey into performance began in theater in 1986, and he expanded into the field of voice acting in 1988. Throughout his career, he has also worked in radio, television, and film, and has served as a dialogue director and acting instructor.

Abundis is particularly renowned in Latin America for his extensive contributions to the dubbing of anime. He is perhaps most recognized for his work in the enduringly popular series Saint Seiya, known as Los Caballeros del Zodiaco in Spanish. In this franchise, he provided the voices for several iconic characters, most notably the Gold Saints Mu de Aries and Máscara de Muerte de Cáncer. His involvement with the series extended across numerous productions, including the original TV series, the Hades Chapter OVAs, Saint Seiya Omega, and the CGI film Legend of Sanctuary.

Another of his landmark roles is the lecherous martial arts master Happosai in the classic anime Ranma ½, a character he has discussed with fondness for its comedic nature. He also voiced the flea demon Myoga and the imp Jaken in InuYasha. His other notable anime credits include Rolf in the animated series Ed, Edd y Eddy, Cake the cat in Hora de Aventura, and various characters in the Pokémon franchise, such as Samson Oak.

Beyond anime, his voice is familiar from numerous live-action productions. He is known for dubbing Merrick Baliton in Power Rangers Wild Force and for being the second voice of the iconic character Tommy Oliver in the Power Rangers franchise from Zeo through Turbo. His repertoire also includes roles in major films and series such as Rescatando al soldado Ryan (Saving Private Ryan), Matrix, and Juego de Tronos (Game of Thrones).

Throughout his career, Abundis has collaborated with many of the most respected directors in Mexican dubbing, including Francisco Colmenero, Arturo Mercado, and Jesús Barrero, among others. His talent and longevity in the industry are marked by his ability to bring a wide range of characters to life, from comedic figures like Happosai and Rolf to the dramatic gravitas of the Gold Saints in Saint Seiya.
