His first major breakthrough came in 2017 when he was cast as the lead character, Yusaku Fujiki / Playmaker, in the long-running anime Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS. This role established him as a promising talent in the industry.
Following his debut, Ishige has built a diverse filmography with a range of leading and supporting roles. He is widely recognized for his portrayal of the shy but passionate Wakana Gojō in the romantic comedy My Dress-Up Darling in 2022. His repertoire includes fantasy series like Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer, where he voiced Ludo Chevalier in 2022, and the adventure series Trillion Game as Manabu "Gaku" Taira in 2024.
