Yousuke Akimoto is a veteran Japanese actor and voice actor, born on February 5, 1944, in Tokyo, Japan. His real name is Yukio Tajika. He is a graduate of the business school at Hosei University. After university, he joined the Bungakuza Theatre training institute, beginning his career in the 1960s as a stage and television drama actor. He transitioned to voice acting in 1981. Over his decades-long career, he has been affiliated with several agencies, including Mausu Promotion and Office PAC, and is currently with PACage.

Akimoto is renowned for his powerful, deep voice, which has made him a frequent choice for roles as authoritative figures, villains, and fatherly characters. One of his most iconic and personally significant roles is Master Asia in the anime series Mobile Fighter G Gundam. He is also widely recognized for his work within the Gundam franchise, including roles such as Steiner Hardy in Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket and Siegel Clyne in Mobile Suit Gundam SEED. Other notable anime roles from his extensive filmography include Shockwave Alberto in Giant Robo, the Master in Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out!, Geral in Black Summoner, and Saburō Anotsu in Blade of the Immortal.
