Kaoru Morota is a Japanese voice actress born on September 26, 1971, in Osaka Prefecture. She is affiliated with the talent agency Tokyo Actor's Consumer's Cooperative Society (Haikyō). Morota began her career in the mid-1990s after graduating from the Katsuta Voice Actor's Institute in 1991 and the Haikyo Voice Actors Studio in 1994. She was formerly known under the stage name Kazue Morota.

Morota has built a career with a wide range of voice roles in anime, video games, and OVAs. Her filmography is extensive, featuring many prominent series from the 1990s onward. She is often cast in roles that are energetic or tomboyish, sometimes utilizing her native Kansai dialect. In addition to her work under her own name, she has used the alias "AYA" for voice work in anime eroge (erotic games) titles.

Among her notable and long-running roles are Ayane Hayashi in the You're Under Arrest franchise, and both Hakuryu (the white dragon) and Lirin in the Saiyuki series. She has also had recurring roles in long-running shows such as Detective Conan, where she has voiced various characters since 1997, and Crayon Shin-chan. Another significant role is Weda in the Haré+Guu series and its sequels, Jungle wa Itsumo Hale Nochi Guu Deluxe and Jungle wa Itsumo Hale Nochi Guu Final.

In the early 2000s, Morota was active in a variety of series, voicing characters like Yuu Inagawa in Comic Party, Nanase Kuon in Samurai Girl: Real Bout High School, and Chelsea Rorec in Tokyo Underground. In the series Usagi-chan de Cue!!, she voiced both Mikami Inaba and Mimika. She played Seiko Rikiishi in Shrine of the Morning Mist and Rasha in Raimuiro Senkitan. Morota also voiced the role of Medaka Kōno in the series Medaka no Gakkō and Chiaki in Demonbane. Her work in the 2010s includes roles such as the mother of Mayoi Hachikuji in the Monogatari series and Toshi Kumakura in Saki: Achiga-hen episode of side-A. She also provided the voice for the character AiAi in several Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing and Super Monkey Ball video games. Her career has continued into the 2020s with a role in the game Tales of Arise and its sequel.
