Shintarou Oohata
Description
Shintarou Oohata is a Japanese voice actor and stage actor born on October 6, 1975, in Masuda, Shimane Prefecture. He is affiliated with the talent agency Ken Production. Before pursuing acting, he aspired to become an adventurer and travel the world.
Oohata began his voice acting career in the early 2000s. One of his first major roles was as Tsunemi Chiba in the 2004 music anime Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad. In 2001, he voiced the character Juan Díaz in the third series of Captain Tsubasa: Road to 2002. That same year, he also voiced the character Tenshitaroid Yellow in the series Gyouten Ningen Batsealer, known in some sources as Hyakujuu-Ou. He has also been active in theater, performing in comedic stage productions such as the Damigoe Matsuri series.
Throughout his career, Oohata has built an extensive filmography, taking on a wide variety of roles in anime, video games, and dubbing for foreign films. In the anime adaptation of the French comic Radiant, he voices the timid but intelligent researcher Doc. He is also known for his role as Gonta Ushijima in the Megaman Star Force anime and its sequel, Megaman Star Force Tribe. He has had a long-standing association with the Future Card Buddyfight franchise, providing the voice for Drumbunker Dragon (also credited as Drumbunker Dragon) across several series including Future Card Buddyfight, Buddyfight 100, and Buddyfight X: All-Star Fight, and also voicing the character Ozone B in Future Card Buddyfight Triple D. His role as Porta in the 2013 film Patema Inverted marks another notable performance. In 2020, he voiced Genki Gondawara and the Magic Carpet in Hakushon Daimaō 2020, as well as Gao Granner Tyranno in Tomica Kizuna Gattai Earth Granner. Other roles include Sid in BeyWarriors: Cyborg, Jake in Bakugan Battle Brawlers: Gundalian Invaders, Haja in Battle B-Daman: Fire Spirits, and Pochi in Wan Wan Serebu Soreyuke! Tetsunoshin.
