Chie Nakamura is a Japanese voice actress born in Tokyo on May 14, 1978. From a young age, she was interested in singing and acting, participating in a children's theater company during her elementary and junior high school years. Her initial aspiration was to join the all-female Takarazuka Revue musical theater troupe, but she ultimately decided against this path due to difficulties with dancing. Following the advice of her younger sister, she chose to pursue a career in voice acting. She began her professional career in 1998, initially affiliated with the talent agency Office Kaoru, before going freelance in April 2012 and joining her current agency, Axlone, on July 1 of the same year.
Nakamura is most widely recognized for her long-running role as Sakura Haruno, which she has voiced across the entirety of the Naruto franchise. This includes the original Naruto series, Naruto Shippūden, and Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, as well as numerous related films, original video animations (OVAs), and video games. The films include Naruto Shippūden: The Lost Tower, and the OVAs include Naruto Special: Battle at Hidden Falls. I Am the Hero! and Naruto: Konoha Sports Festival. Her work on the franchise extends to its various spin-offs and specials, such as Naruto, the Genie, and the Three Wishes, Believe It! and Naruto Shippūden: Shippū! "Konoha Gakuen" Den.
Beyond her signature role, Nakamura has built a diverse portfolio in anime. She has taken on significant parts such as Chihiro Ayasato (Mia Fey) in the Ace Attorney anime series, Nuinokata in the 2019 remake of Dororo, Fuku in the Tenchi Muyo! Ryo Ohki OVA series, and Yumehime in the series Musashi. In the film Gala, she voiced the character Hagoromo. Her other notable anime roles include Eugénie de Danglars in Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo, Rebecka Hallström in Eureka Seven AO, and Matsumae in Tokyo Ghoul:re.

In late November 2022, Nakamura announced that she would be taking a hiatus from work to undergo medical treatment after being diagnosed with ulcerative colitis.
