Miharu Hanai

Description
Miharu Hanai is a Japanese voice actress and singer born on February 8, 1998, in Chitose, Hokkaido. She is affiliated with Dax Productions, having transferred from IAM Agency in early 2025. Her real name is Miharu Suzuki.

Hanai's path to voice acting was influenced by a strong foundation in traditional Japanese performing arts. From the age of three, she was trained in folk singing and shamisen by a teacher who frequented her family's restaurant. This early start led to her holding certifications as a 5th-dan master of folk singing and a 4th-dan master of the shamisen. Initially aspiring to join the Takarazuka Revue, she discovered a new ambition in voice acting after watching the anime K-On!. She subsequently studied at the International Media Academy before beginning her professional career.

She made her voice acting debut in 2017, with one of her first roles being Sassa Kurasaki in the television anime Armed Girl's Machiavellism. The same year, she was cast as Tomoe Murakami in the long-running and popular game franchise The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls, a role that became a significant milestone in her career. Her performance as Tomoe, a character who speaks in Hiroshima dialect and sings enka, allowed her to draw upon her extensive folk singing background, particularly for the character's solo song Onna no Michi wa Hoshi no Michi.

In 2021, she gained further recognition for voicing the energetic character Twin Turbo in the second season of the popular horse racing anime Uma Musume Pretty Derby. Her other notable anime roles include Shiori Yamaga in Selection Project, Lierre in Dropkick on My Devil!, Mel in Smile of the Arsnotoria, Non in Rainy Cocoa sideG, Pekesura in My Isekai Life, Fumio Chitose in Hairpin Double, Reine in Chronicles of an Aristocrat Reborn in Another World, and Urū Miyazaki in Utagoe wa Mille-Feuille. In 2025, she was cast as Meroron in the long-running magical girl franchise, You and Idol Precure.

For a significant part of her career, Hanai and her sister, the well-known voice actor and singer Aina Suzuki, intentionally kept their sibling relationship private to avoid any perception of nepotism and to build their careers independently. The relationship was officially confirmed in November 2023 when they were announced to be playing twin sisters in the anime adaptation of A Journey Through Another World: Raising Kids While Adventuring, in which Hanai voices the character Elena. Their family runs a Western-style restaurant in their hometown of Chitose.

Beyond her voice work, Hanai's talent in folk singing has been a defining feature of her career. Her competition wins at local, regional, and national levels in styles such as Esashi oiwake and Hokkai bon'uta are often noted. Her hobbies include watching professional wrestling. She is also known by the nickname Runrun.
