Description
Yōhei Tadano is a Japanese actor and voice actor born on March 10, 1962, in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. He is affiliated with the theatre company Theatre Echo and has been active in the entertainment industry since 1985. His interest in acting began during his elementary school years, and he later pursued this passion at the University of the Ryukyus, where he joined a local theater group. After graduating, he worked various jobs, including as a salesman, before moving to Tokyo to focus on acting. He joined the Theatre Echo Training Institute in 1988, became a research student, was named a troupe member in April 1994, and received a promotion in April 2000. On February 27, 2019, he was appointed as a tourism ambassador for his hometown of Kitakyushu City.
Tadano's voice-over career began in 1993 with the Japanese-language dubbing of the American film The Saint of Fort Washington. While dubbing assignments for Western movies continued for some time, he expanded into anime work in 2006, with his first role in the series Hime-sama Goyojin. Additionally, following the passing of Ichirō Nagai in 2014, Tadano was called upon to assume Nagai's role of Yoda in Star Wars Rebels. He also replaced Kaneta Kimotsuki as the voice of Jiminy Cricket in the video game Kingdom Hearts III and has served as a replacement for the late Takeshi Aono in several roles.
