Pedro Tena

Description
Pedro Tena is a Spanish voice actor known for his deep and grave tone of voice, which has led him to become the successor to the late Constantino Romero for iconic villain roles in Spain. He began his career in dubbing in 1998, with his earliest roles including minor characters in films, television series, and video games. One of his first notable voice roles in animation was the character Captain Smoker in the anime series One Piece in 2003. That same year, he also voiced the chief of the bandits in the animated film The 3 Wise Men.

Over a career spanning more than two decades, Tena has amassed a wide variety of credits. In anime and animated productions, he is recognized for providing the European Spanish voice for several characters, including the mythical Pokémon Volcanion in the film Pokémon the Movie: Volcanion and the Mechanical Marvel. He also voiced Alighiero, the father of the protagonist, in the animated film and video game Dante's Inferno: An Animated Epic. In the live-action adaptation of Disney's The Lion King, he voiced Mufasa. In the realm of video games, he has lent his voice to characters such as Crunch Bandicoot in Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled, Atrocitus in the Green Lantern: The Animated Series video game, and Scorpion in Marvel's Spider-Man.

Tena has become particularly well-known for taking over the role of Darth Vader in Spanish dubs following the death of Constantino Romero. He first voiced the character in the series Star Wars Rebels and various video games like Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Star Wars Battlefront, before officially succeeding Romero for the character's appearance in the film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. He also replaced Romero as the voice of Mufasa in the 2019 photorealistic version of The Lion King. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he has provided the Spanish voice for the character Drax in Avengers: Infinity War. A significant part of his work involves being the habitual Spanish dubbing voice for several English-language actors, including Jonathan Adams, Kevin Michael Richardson, and Robert Wisdom.
