Description
The twin bear sisters Lulu and Lolo live in a rural countryside setting where they enthusiastically take on new challenges every day. Lulu, who has orange fur, and Lolo, who has yellow fur with an X-shaped marking, find that tasks which are simple for adults become large and difficult missions for them. Their daily endeavors include weeding the garden, cleaning the house, doing laundry, going to the beach, preparing baths, and even helping to care for a baby. The young bears often approach these tasks by gathering many tools and materials, frequently collecting more than they actually need. They work together with a cheerful Heave, Heave, Ho! spirit, but when something goes wrong or they encounter difficulties, the sisters are quick to burst into tears. The only thing that comforts them in these moments is the homemade cookies prepared by their loving grandmother. After finally completing their work, they reward themselves with a well-deserved nap.
The story unfolds through episodic, self-contained vignettes that highlight the joys and small struggles of the twins daily lives. There is no continuous overarching plot, allowing each short episode to stand alone as a gentle and optimistic tale of childhood curiosity and resilience. Through their small-scale adventures, Lulu and Lolo embody themes of friendship, cooperation, and perseverance, learning valuable lessons about kindness, teamwork, and the importance of family. The series is based on the bestselling Kuma no Gakkou picture book series, which has sold over two million copies. The original television series aired in 2013 and consists of 26 episodes, each lasting five minutes. A third season later aired in 2016.
