Description
Inuyasha, a half-demon born to the powerful dog demon Tōga and the human princess Izayoi, possesses enhanced physical abilities like superhuman strength, speed, and senses. This dual heritage also makes him vulnerable during the new moon, when he loses his demon powers and becomes fully human. He wields the Tessaiga, a transformative sword inherited from his father. The Tessaiga's abilities, such as the Wind Scar technique that unleashes destructive waves of demonic energy, shift according to his emotional state and combat needs. He maintains a fierce rivalry with his full-demon half-brother Sesshōmaru, who scorns his human blood.

Sealed to the Sacred Tree for fifty years by the priestess Kikyo after a misunderstanding engineered by the half-demon Naraku, Inuyasha is later freed by Kagome Higurashi. Kagome is Kikyo's reincarnation, a schoolgirl who traveled from modern Tokyo. Their shared quest focuses on gathering the shattered shards of the Shikon Jewel, which Kagome unknowingly carried. This journey compels Inuyasha to confront his lingering feelings for Kikyo alongside his growing connection with Kagome. Following Naraku's defeat and the jewel's destruction, he and Kagome enter a romantic relationship.

After marrying Kagome, Inuyasha fathers a quarter-demon daughter, Moroha. Fourteen years later, he and Kagome face the Beast King Kirinmaru, a powerful daiyōkai allied with Sesshōmaru. During this conflict, Sesshōmaru seals Inuyasha and Kagome inside their father's tomb using the Black Pearl, trapping them within the Border of the Afterlife. This act aims to protect them and ensure Moroha's safety, resulting in Moroha being entrusted to the Wolf-Demon Tribe and raised without her parents.

Throughout the sequel series, Inuyasha remains physically confined. His influence endures through his daughter Moroha, who inherits his combat traits, including the use of a transformed, red Tessaiga (known as the Kurikaramaru) and his signature "Iron Reaver" attack. Her determination and resilience reflect his own evolution from a solitary warrior to a protector of loved ones.
