Naomi Kusumi is a seasoned Japanese voice actor and actor, born on June 17, 1954, in Fukuoka Prefecture. He began his career after training at the Seinenza Theater Company and has been affiliated with the talent management firm Mausu Promotion since 1999. Kusumi is often cast in roles that feature older, overweight, or physically imposing male characters, a typecasting that suits his deep and expressive voice.

Kusumi has built an extensive and varied career in anime, lending his voice to a wide array of characters. His notable roles include the powerful Ichibē Hyōsube in Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, the strategist Renpa in Kingdom, and Akisada Izumi in Shikimori's Not Just a Cutie. He has also appeared in long-running series such as One Piece, where he voiced Jerry and Machvise, and in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, taking on roles like Jack the Ripper and Mansaku Nijimura. His film work includes roles in various Doraemon and Crayon Shin-chan movies, as well as Mobile Suit Gundam: Cucuruz Doan's Island.

Beyond anime, a significant portion of Kusumi's career is dedicated to dubbing foreign films and television series into Japanese. He is particularly well-known as the official Japanese dubbing voice for the character Scooby-Doo in the titular franchise. He is also the regular Japanese voice for American actors John Goodman and Dave Bautista. His extensive dubbing credits include Uncle Vernon Dursley in the Harry Potter series, Drax in Guardians of the Galaxy, and various roles in films like Transformers: Age of Extinction and The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Kusumi's voice is also highly prevalent in the world of video games. He is the Japanese voice of Roadhog in Overwatch and has portrayed characters such as the Bloody Baron in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Futoshi Shimano in the Yakuza series, and Exdeath in Dissidia Final Fantasy NT. His work spans numerous other major titles, including the God of War series, Detroit: Become Human, and multiple Fire Emblem games.

In addition to his voice work, Kusumi holds black belts (second dan) in judo, kendo, and karate. He is also the father of Aiko Kusumi, who is a voice actor as well.
