Maurizio Scattorin is an Italian voice actor and actor, primarily recognized for his extensive work dubbing anime series and films for the Italian market. Born on November 1, 1939, in Trieste, he has been active in Milanese dubbing studios for decades, becoming a familiar voice to generations of Italian animation viewers. He comes from a family of voice actors, being the father of Lorenzo Scattorin and grandfather of Francesco Leon Scattorin. In addition to his voice work, Scattorin has appeared as a live-action actor, most notably in the classic Italian comedy films Amici miei (1975) and Amici miei - Atto IIº (1982), where he played the adult Luciano Perozzi.

Scattorin's career is marked by a vast number of roles in anime, where he often lent his voice to authoritative, elderly, or villainous characters. He is particularly renowned for his long-standing role as Professor Hiroshi Agasa in the Italian editions of the Detective Conan series, a part he has voiced for numerous TV episodes and over a dozen movies, including Lupin III vs. Detective Conan The Movie. He also became well-known to fans of the Dragon Ball franchise for voicing several characters, including Taobaibai, Senbei Norimaki, and the Elder Kaioshin in Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball GT, and the early episodes of Dragon Ball Super.

His filmography includes many other prominent titles. He voiced Shere Khan in Jungle Book: Shōnen Mowgli, Ryuken in the Fist of the North Star films Shin Kyūseishu Densetsu Hokuto no Ken: Kenshirō-den and Yuria-den, and Britai 7018 in The Super Dimension Fortress Macross: Do You Remember Love?. He took on the role of Commander Ronnie Henderson across the various Kyojin no Hoshi series and was the voice of Hachiro Tobe in the dark fantasy film Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade. In the world of magical girls, he voiced the grandfather of Rea and the Evil Tree in Sailor Moon. He also provided voices for characters in series such as One Piece, where he was the first voice of Mr. 3 and voiced Gan Forr, and in Magic Knight Rayearth, where he voiced the titular Rayearth.

Scattorin also contributed to the dubbing of the educational animated series created by Albert Barillé, serving as the voice of the Master in various Italian editions like C'era una volta... la Terra and Grandi uomini per grandi idee. His work extended to video games and live-action dubbing for films and TV series, demonstrating his versatility across different media. His portrayal of characters like Gemini (as the first voice), Aracne, and Orion in the cult classic I Cavalieri dello Zodiaco (Saint Seiya) further cemented his status as a significant figure in Italian anime dubbing.
