Ayaka Saito

Description
Ayaka Saito is a Japanese actress and voice actress born on June 2, 1988, in Tokyo. She began her career in entertainment at a young age, making her voice acting debut in 1996 while in elementary school with the role of Hanako-san in the film Toire no Hanako-san. Throughout her career, Saito has been affiliated with several talent agencies, including Vocal, remax, and currently, Aoni Production, which she joined in August 2019.

Saito is widely recognized for her distinct, high-pitched voice, which has led to her frequent casting in roles that require a cute and youthful tone, often portraying young children, small animals, and mascot characters. She is particularly well-known for her long-running role as Ruby, the pink rabbit mascot, in the extensive Jewelpet franchise, appearing in numerous television series and films such as Jewelpet, Jewelpet Twinkle, Lady Jewelpet, and Jewelpet: Magical Change. Another significant mascot role is Mofurun in the Maho Girls PreCure! series and its related films, including Eiga Mahō Tsukai Precure! Kiseki no Henshin! Cure Mofurun!, where she voiced the character who transforms into a Cure. She has also voiced the character Brown in the popular children's series Butt Detective (Oshiri Tantei) across its various television seasons and films.

Beyond these prominent roles, Saito's filmography includes a wide range of characters in anime series. She voiced the androgynous-looking but childlike Mitsukuni "Honey" Haninozuka in Ouran High School Host Club, Momiji Sohma in the first Fruits Basket anime adaptation, and Tomoka Rana Judo in Girls Bravo. She has also appeared in series such as Eden of the East as Mikuru "Micchon" Katsuhara, the Queen's Blade franchise as Ymir, Jubei-chan 2 as Ayunosuke Odago, and Sugar Sugar Rune as Waffle. Her work also extends to original net animations (ONA) like Azumanga Web Daioh, where she played Chiyo Mihama, and various other projects.

Throughout her career, Saito has demonstrated versatility by playing characters that range from gentle and calm to those with a more boyish and rough edge, showcasing a broader acting range than her signature cute voice might suggest. A notable aspect of her professional life has been her long-term association with the Jewelpet franchise, which became a defining part of her career for a significant period. Her casting as Mofurun in the Precure series marked a major return to a high-profile mascot role after some years with less frequent voice acting work. Saito's agency history reflects her professional development, with transfers from her first agency, Vocal, to remax at the start of 2016, and then to Aoni Production in 2019.
