Asad Schwarz, also known as Asad Schwarz Msesilamba, is a distinguished German voice actor and stage performer with an extensive career in dubbing, particularly recognized for his work in anime. Born in East Berlin, he initially trained as a cook before discovering his passion for acting, which led him to the stage. His theatrical career included engagements at prominent venues such as the Thalia Theater Hamburg, the Deutsches Theater Berlin, and the English Theatre in Berlin. He has been active as a voice actor since 1986, lending his voice to numerous film, television, and animation productions.

Schwarz is widely known within the anime community for his versatile vocal performances. He voices the kind-hearted and reliable swimmer Makoto Tachibana in the popular series Free! and its subsequent sequels and films, including Free! - Iwatobi Swim Club, Free! Eternal Summer, and Free! -Dive to the Future-. He also provides the voice for the complex character Yuri Petrov, also known as the vigilante Lunatic, in both Tiger & Bunny and Tiger & Bunny 2. Other notable anime roles include the arrogant yet brilliant detective Ranpo Edogawa in Bungo Stray Dogs and its related films, the princely and dramatic Tamaki Suou in Ouran High School Host Club, and Tooru Kishiri in Fire Force. His extensive filmography further encompasses roles such as Yato in Noragami, Birthday in Hamatora, Sougo Okita in Gintama, Satori Tendou in Haikyu!!, Rades Spirito in Black Clover, and Femt in Blood Blockade Battlefront. Earlier in his career, he voiced characters in classic anime, including Laurie Laurence in Little Women (Eine fröhliche Familie) and Lance Romero in Ai to Yūki no Pig Girl Tonde Būrin.

In addition to his anime work, Schwarz's voice is familiar to German audiences from dubbing numerous live-action actors and celebrities, including Snoop Dogg, Kevin Hart, Chris Rock, and Ja Rule. His film dubbing credits include voicing Chirrut Îmwe in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Matt Doran in The Matrix.
