Shigeru Ushiyama is a veteran Japanese actor and voice actor born on January 25, 1952, in Nagano Prefecture. He is affiliated with the Theatre Company Subaru, a prominent theatrical troupe in Japan. Ushiyama began his professional career in 1977 after studying at the Academy of Performing Arts and joining what would become the Subaru theater company, where he remains a dedicated member. His early interest in acting was sparked during his fourth-grade year of elementary school.

His voice acting career is extensive, spanning both anime and the Japanese dubbing of foreign films and animated features. In the realm of anime, Ushiyama has portrayed a wide array of characters across numerous popular series. He is known for roles such as Doctor Hiruluk in One Piece and its related film One Piece: Episode of Chopper - The Miracle Winter Cherry Blossom, Professor Shikishima in Tetsujin 28 and its film Tetsujin 28: Morning Moon of Midday, and Matsuda in Descending Stories: Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju.
