Shōgo Sakata is a Japanese voice actor born on January 23, 1998, in Kumamoto Prefecture. He is affiliated with the talent management firm Aoni Production. His inspiration to pursue a career in voice acting came during his junior high school years when he read a light novel and wished to become its main character. After graduating from high school, he trained at the Amusement Media Academy. During his time as a student, he gained practical experience by appearing in the live-action film Jinrō Game: Mad Land and by working on the Japanese-language dub for the 2017 animated film Loving Vincent.

Sakata's career has included a variety of roles in anime television series. His first major casting was in 2019 as Jun Komine in Sanrio's Warahibi! multimedia project. He continued to gain recognition with roles such as Akito Ashimine in the second season of Tsugumomo, Ranmaru Ai in Fairy Ranmaru, and Leviathan in the film My Hero Academia: World Heroes' Mission. A significant breakthrough role was his casting as Aki Hayakawa in the 2022 anime adaptation of Chainsaw Man. He has also voiced Algard von Palletia in The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady, and the protagonist Usato in The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic.

In 2024, Sakata was cast in the romantic comedy series Love Is Indivisible by Twins, providing the voice for the lead character, Jun Shirosaki. He was also cast as Takumi Iruma in the series Someday Will I Be The Greatest Alchemist?, which is scheduled to premiere in January 2025. In addition to anime, Sakata has lent his voice to characters in several video games. His game credits include Fennesz Oswald in Akuma Shitsuji to Kuroi Neko, Saitō Toshimitsu in Samurai Warriors 5, and Moze in the 2024 title Honkai: Star Rail.
