Marika Kōno is a Japanese voice actress and singer from Tokyo, born on February 22, 1994. She became interested in voice acting during her childhood after learning that the same actress, Ikue Ōtani, voiced both Pikachu from Pokémon and Tony Tony Chopper from One Piece. This discovery led her to pursue a career in the industry. She is the second of three sisters in a family passionate about dance.

Kōno graduated from the Yoyogi Animation Academy and is a graduate of the Mausu Promotion attached training school, the 27th class. She became officially affiliated with Mausu Promotion in 2014. Her early career included minor roles in series such as Aikatsu! and Rail Wars!. She gained early recognition for her role as one of the main characters, Megumi, in the information program Ohenro, which also led to her participation in the voice actor unit Team Ohenro. In 2015, she landed her first main role as Rin Kohana in the anime Seiyu's Life!. Alongside her co-stars Rie Takahashi and Yuki Nagaku, she formed the voice actor unit Earphones, which originated from this series. In October 2019, she transferred to her current agency, Aoni Production.

Kōno has built a diverse career with numerous notable anime roles. In 2022 and 2023, her performances included Mahiro Oyama in Onimai: I'm Now Your Sister!, Karin Istel in Love Flops, Jiujiu in Raven of the Inner Palace, and Nina in Beast Tamer. She also voiced Hinagiku in In the Heart of Kunoichi Tsubaki, Miya in By the Grace of the Gods, and Dr. Inoue in 5-Oku-Nen Button. Her portfolio includes the roles of Tsugumi Nazar in Scarlet Nexus, Eri Ibusaki in D_Cide Traumerei the Animation, and Shirona Tsukisuzu in Irodorimidori. Earlier in her career, she was the voice of Silence Suzuka in the popular Uma Musume Pretty Derby franchise, Petra Leyte in Re:Zero -Starting Life in Another World-, and Yumina Elnea Belfast in In Another World With My Smartphone. Other significant roles include Mizuki Yuiga in We Never Learn: BOKUBEN, Sylvia in If It's for My Daughter, I'd Even Defeat a Demon Lord, Scarlett Gosling in No Guns Life, Aya in After School Dice Club, and Mimi Tachikawa in Digimon Adventure:. She also played Utako Uta in Chikasugi Idol Akae-chan, Cheer-chan in Tawawa on Monday Two, Miru in Kaiju Decode, Yuzuki Shijo in Blue Reflection Ray, Hinata Uesato in Yuki Yuna is a Hero: Churutto!, and Kaede Foxia in How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom. Her filmography also includes roles such as Nemu Emmott in Overlord III, Sara Grace in the Netflix original anime Eden, for which she served as her first lead role in an anime, Ray Hua in Tatakae! Space Attendant Aoi, Claire Fugo in Granbelm, Malice Emony in Saint Seiya: Saintia Shō, and Mishara in LayereD Stories 0. She also voiced Ako Amau in the Blue Archive: 1.5th Anniversary Short Animation.

In addition to her voice acting work, Kōno is also active as a singer. She performs as a member of the unit Earphones, signed to Evil Line Records, and made her solo artist debut under Nippon Columbia in February 2021 with the single Yume Mitai, demo Yume janai. She has since released subsequent singles and an album.

In late 2022, Kōno was diagnosed with adjustment disorder, leading to a temporary limitation of her activities to prioritize her health and treatment.
