Nariyuki Yuiga, a hardworking and financially struggling high school student, is offered a prestigious college recommendation by his school, provided he tutors two of his academically gifted classmates, Rizu Ogata and Fumino Furuhashi. Despite their brilliance in specific subjects—Rizu excels in mathematics but struggles with literature, while Fumino is a literary prodigy but fails at math—both girls aspire to pursue careers in fields unrelated to their strengths.
