Shunsuke Sakuya is a Japanese voice actor and actor born on May 20, 1965, in Miyazaki Prefecture. He began his career under the stage name Shunsuke Saku. His educational background includes time at Hiroshima Municipal Funairi High School and the theater department at Toho Gakuen College of Art, followed by training at the Seinenza Acting Institute.

As a voice actor, Sakuya is noted for being primarily self-taught, having not received specialized training in voice acting. His career encompasses work in anime television series, original video animations, animated films, and video games. He made his debut in the mid-1990s, with an early role as a monitor in the 1996 anime VR Fighter.

Sakuya has built an extensive anime filmography, taking on a wide range of supporting and leading roles. He is known for long-running parts such as Hideaki Shigeno in the Major franchise and Sakon/Ukon in Naruto. In addition to anime, a significant portion of Sakuya's work is in dubbing foreign films and dramas, known as fukikae. He is the regular Japanese dubbing voice for several Hollywood actors, including Ethan Hawke, Ben Affleck, Patrick Wilson, and Mark Wahlberg. He also provides dubbing for South Korean actors Park Hee-soon and Sol Kyung-gu.

In a significant career move, Sakuya transferred his agency affiliation from Seinenza Film and Broadcasting to Osawa Office on March 1, 2024. Beyond performance, he is involved in industry advocacy. In October 2024, he co-founded the group NOMORE Unauthorized Generative AI, which aims to address the use of performers' voices and likenesses in AI-generated media and protect their rights. His personal interests include track and field, plastic model building, sports, and theater appreciation.
