Description
Twenty-four-year-old Rinko Nakama is a classic closeted otaku. To her coworkers, she is a quiet office worker who inexplicably declines every after-work drinking party to rush straight home. The truth is that her small apartment is her sanctuary, the only place she can freely indulge her love for anime and her favorite manga series, Bunny and Cat Club. Her peaceful routine is disrupted by her two neighbors. On one side lives the handsome and gentlemanly Akito Satsuki, who is unfailingly sweet to her. On the other side is the hot-headed Haruma Usada, who has a violent habit of banging on the wall whenever her anime gets too loud.

The fragile wall between them literally comes crashing down when Rinko asks Akito for help mediating the noise dispute. In a fit of temper, Haruma kicks through the wall separating his apartment from Rinko’s, and then, in a chaotic chain reaction, also breaks through to Akito’s side. Through the dust and rubble, Rinko is horrified to discover that her intimidating, aggressive neighbor is none other than Usaharu, the secret creator of her most beloved manga. Her private world is now shattered, and her most embarrassing secret is exposed.

With three apartments now physically connected by gaping holes, the trio is forced into an awkward and bizarre form of cohabitation. The kind but mysterious Akito, whose gentle demeanor may hide his own secrets, becomes an unexpected ally, while the gruff Haruma must confront the fact that his biggest fan lives within earshot. As they navigate this new normal, their lives become increasingly intertwined. The series follows Rinko as her once-quiet solitude is replaced by chaotic, heart-pounding, and often comedic daily life, blurring the lines between neighbor, roommate, and something more. Additional residents of the building, including Kyō Honda, Hazuki Takamine, Shion Kogi, and Haruma’s sister Mao Usada, further complicate the social dynamics of this unconventional household. Set within the thin-walled confines of a Japanese apartment complex, the story explores the humorous and romantic fallout when personal boundaries are violently removed, forcing three very different people to share a single, broken living space.
