Two years after a forest fire destroyed their hidden homeland, a community of elves has relocated and settled openly among the human population of Kanagawa Prefecture. Rather than concealing their long ears and magical sensibilities, these mythical beings now live ordinary lives, navigating train systems, working local jobs, and engaging with the modern world in cities such as Yokohama, Yokosuka, Chigasaki, and Sagamihara. The live-action television drama, a five-minute situational comedy, unfolds within the framework of a fictional radio program titled Dokidoki! Elfu Doki! The main characters serve as the show's personalities and production staff: the self-assured Yokohama Elf who often declares himself the prefecture's unofficial leader, the elderly-spirited Yokosuka Elf dressed in marine attire who speaks of the Black Ships' arrival as if it happened yesterday, the barbecue-loving party elf from Chigasaki, the soft-spoken Sagamihara Elf who works in landscaping and can converse with plants, and the human from Kawasaki who serves as the program's director while enduring both verbal jabs and occasional threats on his life from his elven coworkers. Adding to the ensemble is an orc from Machida who works as an assistant director and frequently argues with the elves over whether Machida rightfully belongs to Kanagawa or Tokyo. The drama presents these characters conducting live broadcasts from various locations across the prefecture, with narration provided by Ray Fujita. The humor derives from the collision of fantasy archetypes with hyper-local Kanagawa culture, from the labyrinthine expanse of Yokohama Station where elves search for English textbooks to debates over where Shonan begins and ends, all filtered through the comedy of immortal beings adjusting to the mundane rhythms and peculiar idiosyncrasies of contemporary Japanese life.
