Description
Tazusa Sakurano is a 16-year-old figure skater representing Japan on the international stage, driven by a fierce determination to succeed despite her struggles with consistency and self-doubt. During a pivotal competition, she suffers a devastating fall, only to discover that her body has been possessed by the spirit of Pete Pumps, a Canadian stunt pilot who died in a plane crash. Pete, a cheerful and somewhat mischievous ghost, is unable to leave Tazusa’s body and becomes an unwilling observer of her life. The two initially clash due to their contrasting personalities, but they gradually form a unique bond as they navigate the challenges of competitive figure skating and the complexities of their shared existence.

As Tazusa continues to train and compete, Pete’s presence influences her performances in unexpected ways. His bold and carefree attitude begins to temper her perfectionism, while her discipline and focus help him reflect on his own life choices. The series explores their evolving relationship, blending moments of humor, drama, and introspection. Tazusa’s journey is further complicated by external pressures, including the expectations of her coach, the scrutiny of the media, and the competitive nature of the sport. Meanwhile, Pete’s lingering attachment to his past life and unresolved emotions add depth to his character, creating a poignant dynamic between the two protagonists.

The narrative balances Tazusa’s athletic ambitions with the supernatural premise, offering a mix of sports drama and lighthearted supernatural comedy. Key supporting characters, such as Tazusa’s coach and fellow skaters, provide additional context to her world, highlighting the dedication and sacrifices required in elite figure skating. The series culminates in a climactic competition where Tazusa must confront her fears and insecurities, with Pete’s support playing a crucial role in her growth as both an athlete and an individual. Through its blend of heartfelt moments and competitive tension, the story captures the resilience and determination required to pursue one’s dreams, while also exploring themes of connection, identity, and the impact of unexpected relationships.
