Description
Tazusa Sakurano is a 16-year-old figure skater representing Japan on the international stage, driven by a fierce determination to succeed despite her struggles with consistency and self-doubt. During a pivotal competition, she suffers a devastating fall, only to discover that her body has been possessed by the spirit of Pete Pumps, a Canadian stunt pilot who died in a plane crash. Pete, a cheerful and somewhat mischievous ghost, is unable to leave Tazusa’s body and becomes an unwilling observer of her life. The two initially clash due to their contrasting personalities, but they gradually form a unique bond as they navigate the challenges of competitive figure skating and the complexities of their shared existence.
As Tazusa continues to train and compete, Pete’s presence influences her performances in unexpected ways. His bold and carefree attitude begins to temper her perfectionism, while her discipline and focus help him reflect on his own life choices. The series explores their evolving relationship, blending moments of humor, drama, and introspection. Tazusa’s journey is further complicated by external pressures, including the expectations of her coach, the scrutiny of the media, and the competitive nature of the sport. Meanwhile, Pete’s lingering attachment to his past life and unresolved emotions add depth to his character, creating a poignant dynamic between the two protagonists.
The narrative balances Tazusa’s athletic ambitions with the supernatural premise, offering a mix of sports drama and lighthearted supernatural comedy. Key supporting characters, such as Tazusa’s coach and fellow skaters, provide additional context to her world, highlighting the dedication and sacrifices required in elite figure skating. The series culminates in a climactic competition where Tazusa must confront her fears and insecurities, with Pete’s support playing a crucial role in her growth as both an athlete and an individual. 1Ginban Kaleidoscope
Figure skater Sakurano Tazusa finishes sixth at a Grand Prix competition after falling on a triple lutz and hitting her head. In the hospital, she hears a male voice speaking inside her skull. The voice identifies himself as Pete Pumps, a Canadian stunt pilot who died in a plane crash earlier that day. Pete explains that his spirit entered Tazusa's body at the exact moment of her fall and his plane's explosion. He will remain inside her for 100 days until the next full moon. Tazusa tries to ignore him and returns to practice at her home rink. Pete critiques her skating posture and jump technique, which frustrates her. She attempts a double axel to prove him wrong but loses balance and falls. Pete takes partial control of her body, corrects her spin axis, and lands the jump cleanly. Tazusa realizes she cannot physically remove him or shut out his voice. She agrees to tolerate his presence for the time being but demands that he leave as soon as possible. The next morning, she wakes to find Pete still there, and he announces he will help her win a gold medal whether she wants it or not.
2Episode 2
Sakurano Tazusa wakes up to find the ghost of Pete Pumps still inside her body. Pete explains his death during a stunt plane crash and states he has one hundred days before his soul departs. Tazusa goes to the ice rink for practice, attempting to ignore Pete's running commentary. Pete shouts a warning as she launches into a triple loop-double toe loop combination, causing her to lose focus and fall. Coach Mikata asks Tazusa why her performance has deteriorated over the past two days. Tazusa lies that she has a headache. Her younger sister Yuki notices Tazusa muttering to herself and looks worried. Later at home, Pete moves a pencil on the desk to prove he is real. Tazusa threatens to find a medium to expel him, but Pete reveals he can take control of her body for one hundred seconds per day. He seizes control for five seconds to demonstrate a correct landing position on a jump. Tazusa feels the difference in weight distribution and realizes Pete's aerial experience gives him unique insight into body rotation. Pete proposes a deal: he will coach her to win the Olympic gold medal, and she will allow him to inhabit her until his hundred days end. Tazusa reluctantly accepts because her upcoming regional competition determines her qualification for the national championships. The episode closes with Tazusa attempting a triple loop under Pete's guidance, uncertain whether his presence will lead to success or further failure.
