Born 39 years ago to the Figarland Family of World Nobles, he is the son of Figarland Garling and younger twin brother of Figarland Shamrock. Discovered as an infant inside a treasure chest by the Roger Pirates at God Valley, Shanks was adopted by Gol D. Roger's crew.
