Description
Mokuba Kaiba is the younger brother of Seto Kaiba and serves as the vice president of KaibaCorp despite his elementary school age. He was orphaned at a young age alongside his brother, and the two spent time living in an orphanage before being adopted by Gozaburo Kaiba. Throughout his life, Mokuba has remained fiercely loyal to Seto, often challenging anyone who speaks ill of him. However, he is not afraid to question his brother’s decisions when he believes Seto is acting wrongly. Mokuba is generally portrayed as good-natured and somewhat naive, though he has a mischievous streak that sometimes leads him into trouble. His deepest motivation is to see his brother smile again, as Seto’s serious and ruthless demeanor after taking over KaibaCorp has faded the warmth they once shared.

In Yu-Gi-Oh! The Movie: Pyramid of Light, Mokuba acts as a messenger and supporter for Seto. After Yugi experiences a vision of Anubis, Mokuba arrives to bring Yugi to Kaiba’s Duel Dome, where Seto forces a duel against Yami Yugi. When the duel triggers the Pyramid of Light card and the building begins to crumble, Mokuba flees to safety. He is later rescued by Maximillion Pegasus, who arrives by helicopter alongside Téa Gardner and Solomon Muto. Throughout the film, Mokuba’s primary role is to convey information and show concern for his brother’s well-being, as seen when he expresses doubt about the plan. At the film’s conclusion, an injured Seto departs with Mokuba, reaffirming their bond as they leave together.

Mokuba’s relationship with Seto is the central pillar of his character. He is the only person to whom Seto consistently shows affection, and Mokuba in turn is eternally devoted. He also develops a degree of trust toward Yugi and his friends, which helps soften his earlier vindictive tendencies. Over time, Mokuba matures, becoming more tolerant and understanding. While he rarely duels using his own deck—often borrowing from Seto—he possesses a sharp intelligence and technological savvy that make him a valuable asset to KaibaCorp. His presence in the movie underscores his unwavering support for his brother and his role as the one person who can see past Seto’s harsh exterior.
