Description
Nico Robin, known as "Devil Child" and "Light of the Revolution," is the archaeologist of the Straw Hat Pirates. Born on Ohara to a family of archaeologists, her mother Nico Olvia left when Robin was two to research the Void Century. Enduring isolation and abuse from her aunt and uncle, Robin cultivated her archaeological skills, passing the archaeology exam at eight to become Ohara's youngest scholar. Her ability to read Poneglyphs—ancient stones documenting forbidden history—drew the World Government's ire. When Ohara was destroyed for researching the Void Century, Robin emerged as the sole survivor. She received her first bounty of 79,000,000 berries at age eight, falsely accused of sinking six Marine warships to conceal the government's fear of her knowledge.

Robin consumed the Hana Hana no Mi (Flower-Flower Fruit) in childhood, gaining the power to replicate and sprout body parts from any surface. This ability lets her create limbs, eyes, ears, or full clones for combat, reconnaissance, or utility, including giant limbs or wings for flight. After training with the Revolutionary Army during a two-year timeskip, she infused Fish-Man Karate fundamentals into her style, amplifying her striking power.

Her early life involved evading the World Government while facing betrayals from bounty-seeking groups, fostering deep distrust. At 24, she joined Baroque Works as "Miss All Sunday," serving as Crocodile's vice president to access Alabasta's Poneglyph. She later betrayed Crocodile after he attacked her for withholding Pluton's location. Rescued by Monkey D. Luffy, she joined the Straw Hats despite the crew's initial suspicion.

During the Water 7 Arc, depicted in *Episode of Merry*, Robin left the crew to protect them from the World Government, believing her presence endangered their lives. Surrendering to CP9, she was imprisoned at Enies Lobby. The Straw Hats invaded, declaring war on the World Government. Facing execution, Robin voiced her desire to live and rejoin the crew—a pivotal moment cementing her loyalty. The crew destroyed Enies Lobby's gates and defeated CP9 to rescue her, resolving her inner conflict as she embraced the Straw Hats as true companions.

Post-Enies Lobby, Robin evolved from aloof and stoic to warmer and more humorous, often unsettling crewmates like Usopp and Chopper with morbid remarks about dangers. She acts maternally toward younger characters, including Chopper and Momonosuke, with deepened trust replacing her earlier pragmatism. After the timeskip, she displayed heightened emotional expressiveness, including face-fault reactions and tearful responses to sentimental moments.

Her dream is to uncover the world's true history by locating the Rio Poneglyph, which records the Void Century. Her bounty rose to 80,000,000 berries after Enies Lobby, 130,000,000 after Dressrosa, and 930,000,000 after the Raid on Onigashima, reflecting her escalating threat to the World Government.
