Roger Craig Smith is an American voice actor and former stand-up comedian known for his extensive work in animation, video games, and anime dubbing. Born on August 11, 1975, in St. Joseph, Michigan, and raised in Tustin, California, he developed an early interest in performance, being voted class clown in middle school and participating in musical theater. He attended Chapman University, where he earned a degree in screenwriting from the Dodge College of Film and Media Arts in 2003 while also performing stand-up comedy for five years. His experience in comedy helped him develop the adaptability needed for voice acting, and he left stand-up to pursue voice-over work full-time in 2004 or 2005.

Smith's entry into anime voice acting came through English dubs produced for the American market. His versatility has allowed him to portray a wide range of characters, from villainous and intense figures to comedic and lighthearted roles. In anime, he has taken on several significant roles. He voiced Gilbert G.P. Guilford in Code Geass: Lelouch of the Re;surrection, continuing his role from the original Code Geass series. He portrayed Kotaro Higashi, also known as Ultraman Taro, in the Netflix anime series Ultraman. In the Ghost in the Shell franchise, he voices the character John Smith in Ghost in the Shell: SAC2045 and its compilation film Ghost in the Shell: SAC2045 Sustainable War. He is also the voice of Eisuke in the films The Laws of the Universe Part 0 and The Laws of the Universe: Part 1. His work extends to the Marvel anime collaborations, where he voices Captain America in the series Marvel Future Avengers and its second season, also providing the voice for the character Visco in the same series. Another prominent anime film role is Bruce Wayne, or Batman, in the animated feature Batman Ninja.

Beyond the specific roles listed, Smith has a long history of voicing characters in other major anime series. He is known for his roles as the explosive artist Deidara in Naruto: Shippuden and as Shinji Hirako in Bleach.
