Rica Fukami is a Japanese voice actress and narrator born on August 8, 1963, in Kyoto Prefecture and raised in Chichibu, Saitama. She began her career after graduating from the Tokyo Announcement Academy and making her anime debut in 1982 with a role in Tokimeki Tonight. Initially affiliated with Dojinsha Productions, she later worked with several agencies before becoming a freelance voice actor on July 1, 2019.

Fukami is widely recognized for her extensive and varied body of work in anime, which began in earnest in the 1980s with roles such as Schaffe in Ninja Senshi Tobikage and a young Kazuya Uesugi in Touch. Her most iconic and long-running role came in the 1990s when she voiced Minako Aino, also known as Sailor Venus, in the original Sailor Moon anime series and its subsequent movies and specials from 1992 to 1997. This role cemented her status as a beloved figure in the industry.

Her career continued to flourish with a wide range of characters across different genres. She provided the voice for Myung Fang Lone in the influential Macross Plus OVA and its movie edition. Other notable anime roles include Enya Geil in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Spoor in Crest of the Stars and Banner of the Stars, Hamil in The Legend of Black Heaven, and Kaguya in Kenyū Densetsu Yaiba. In the 2000s and beyond, her filmography expanded to include Fran in the video game Final Fantasy XII, Regine in Futari wa Pretty Cure, Nana Sawada in Katekyo Hitman Reborn!, and Eriko Oginome in Penguindrum. In recent years, she has continued to work actively, voicing Grace O'Malley in Fena: Pirate Princess, Tomoe in Lupin the 3rd Part 6, Nobara in Vampire in the Garden, and Shenmei in The Apothecary Diaries. She also voiced Hebigami, the Snake God, in the 2025 series Dragon Heart: Adventures Beyond This World.

In addition to her anime work, Fukami is highly active in dubbing foreign films and television series, providing the Japanese voices for numerous acclaimed actresses including Catherine Zeta-Jones, Angelina Jolie, Sharon Stone, and Jodie Foster. She also works extensively as a narrator for television programs and commercials.

In recognition of her long-standing contributions and influence in the voice acting industry, Rica Fukami was honored with the Kazue Takahashi Award at the 14th Seiyu Awards in 2020. She is also known for her diverse range of skills and interests outside of acting, holding certifications as a hypnotherapist and in kendama.
