Description
Artemis is a white, plush toy cat with green eyes and a golden collar featuring a crescent moon pendant. He is one of the guardian allies whose mission is to gather the Sailor Guardians to battle the forces of evil. Like his counterpart Luna, Artemis is a living plush toy rather than a biological cat, a distinctive trait of the live-action series.

In the context of the story, Artemis serves as the dedicated advisor and companion to Minako Aino, who transforms into Sailor Venus. He first appears in Act 11 of the series, arriving by falling onto Minako from the moon on Christmas, a moment that begins their partnership. Artemis possesses more accurate and complete memories of the Silver Millennium, the ancient moon kingdom, than Luna does. He uses this knowledge to guide the Sailor Guardians, often providing crucial information about their past lives and true mission.

Personality wise, Artemis is characterized as being less critical and more advising compared to other depictions of the character. He maintains a calm and supportive demeanor, acting as a steady presence for Minako, who faces considerable personal challenges throughout the series. Their relationship is frequently described as that of a big brother, with Artemis caring for her deeply not only as a mentor but as a close friend. He is notably the only individual in whom Minako initially confides her secrets and struggles, before she gradually becomes closer to Rei Hino, Sailor Mars, later in the narrative. Artemis also serves as a messenger between Minako and Luna, even after it is revealed that Minako is not the reincarnated princess they were seeking.

Unlike Luna, who can transform into a human girl called Sailor Luna, Artemis does not have a human form and does not join the Sailor Guardians directly in physical combat. His role is primarily strategic and supportive. He is responsible for providing the Senshi with special items to aid them in their battles. For instance, after Sailor Moon is revealed to be Princess Serenity, Artemis gives the Sailor Guardians their Sailor Star Tambourines. He is also shown to be deeply concerned for Minako's well-being, repeatedly urging her to seek treatment for her illness and expressing disappointment when she refuses to do so.

Throughout the live-action series, Artemis demonstrates unwavering loyalty and a profound respect for Minako, both as a Sailor Senshi and as a civilian. He attends the wedding of Usagi Tsukino and Mamoru Chiba in the Special Act, sitting on the shoulder of Luna in her human form, marking his presence at the conclusion of their shared journey.
