Description
A lone gunman with no name rides into a desolate Nevada ghost town called Yuda, where two rival clans are locked in a brutal feud. The red-clad Heike, led by the volatile and cowardly Kiyomori, battle the white-clad Genji, commanded by the skilled assassin Yoshitsune, each believing the town holds a legendary hidden treasure. The stranger is a man of immense skill and deep emotional scars, and both clans immediately try to recruit him to their side. Refusing to pledge allegiance, the gunman instead chooses his own path, taking shelter with a woman named Ruriko, a retired assassin who lives with her mute grandson, Heihachi.
The sheriff, who suffers from a bizarre split personality and has allied himself with the Heike, explains the town’s tragic history to the stranger. He tells of Akira, a Heike man who fell in love with Shizuka, a Genji woman. They married and had a son, Heihachi. Enraged, Kiyomori shot Akira in the back and raped Shizuka, who was then forced to become a prostitute for the Genji to survive and protect her child. The trauma left young Heihachi unable to speak.
As the conflict escalates, the gunman reveals his own secret agenda, playing both clans against each other in a violent game of dirty tricks and betrayal. He collaborates with Ruriko to lure the Heike and Genji together for a final confrontation, using a chest supposedly filled with gold as bait. The plan results in a chaotic and explosive showdown, featuring a deadly duel between the gunman and the Genji leader Yoshitsune. After the massacre, the mysterious stranger rides out of town, leaving nearly all the gold behind for the mute boy Heihachi. He offers the child a final piece of life advice so moving that Heihachi finally finds his voice and speaks.
