Yuko Minaguchi

Description
Yuko Minaguchi is a veteran Japanese voice actress and narrator with a career spanning over three decades. Born on June 26, 1966, in Bunkyō, Tokyo, she has been affiliated with the talent agency Aoni Production since her debut in 1985. Her interest in acting began in her youth, and she joined a children's theater company during middle school, which led to her being scouted for voice acting.

Minaguchi’s career began in the mid-1980s. Her debut was in an original video animation titled GREED, and one of her first significant roles was as Princess Apricot in the 1986 series Bosco Adventure. The late 1980s saw her rise to prominence with the title role in Yawara! A Fashionable Judo Girl, a character that established her as a leading voice actress of the era.

Throughout the 1990s, she secured several iconic roles that solidified her legacy. She became a staple in the Dragon Ball franchise, first voicing Videl in Dragon Ball Z and later her daughter, Pan, in Dragon Ball GT. She has continued to voice both characters in subsequent films like Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods and the series Dragon Ball Super. Another landmark role from this period was Hotaru Tomoe, also known as Sailor Saturn, in the Sailor Moon S series. She also lent her voice to Nadeshiko Kinomoto in Cardcaptor Sakura and Yaone in Saiyuki.

Minaguchi's filmography includes a wide array of characters across television, film, and video games. Her notable anime roles include Akiko Minase in Kanon, Kaede in Betterman, Ringo in Casshern Sins, and Hishiri Adashino in The Case Files of Lord El-Melloi II: Rail Zeppelin Grace Note. More recently, she has played Misery in BOFURI: I Don't Want to Get Hurt, so I'll Max Out My Defense, Glenys in Skeleton Knight in Another World, and the voice of Yamada's mother in The Dangers in My Heart. In video games, she is known for her roles as Farah Oersted in Tales of Eternia, Tifa Lockhart in Ehrgeiz, Klose Rinz in The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky series, and Nene Anegasaki in the Love Plus series.

In 2012, Minaguchi took a hiatus from her voice acting career to study English in New York, a lifelong goal. She returned to Japan and resumed her professional activities in 2014. She is recognized for her clear, beautiful voice and is often cast in roles that are gentle, maternal, or embody a classic Yamato Nadeshiko archetype. She remains active in the industry, continuing to reprise her long-standing roles while taking on new characters.
