Gileno Santoro was a Brazilian voice actor recognized for his extensive work dubbing anime and animated series for the Brazilian Portuguese market. He began his artistic career in theater in the late 1960s before transitioning to voice acting in 1995 at the studio Clone in São Paulo. He became widely known for his long-standing role as Master Roshi in the Dragon Ball franchise, a character he voiced for over two decades starting in 1999. Santoro was also the Portuguese voice of Uncle Chan in As Aventuras de Jackie Chan and Professor Hubert Farnsworth in Futurama.

In the realm of anime, Santoro contributed voices to numerous series and films. In the Pokémon franchise, he voiced multiple characters across different series, including Dr. Zager in Pokémon: Black and White: Rival Destinies and Professor Rowan in Pocket Monsters: Diamond & Pearl. His other notable anime roles included Kato in Bakugan Battle Brawlers, Yoki in Fullmetal Alchemist, and Wang Chan in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. He also provided voices for the film Paprika as Dr. Torataro Shima.
