Gilbert Lévy is a French actor and director, born on November 20, 1949, in Tunis, Tunisia. He is primarily known for his extensive work in dubbing, providing the French voices for numerous characters in animated series and films, as well as for live-action actors.
Lévy is particularly renowned for his vocal range, often using a low, raspy tone suited for a variety of character types, from gruff individuals to comedic roles. He is the regular French dubbing voice for actors such as Colm Meaney, Randy Quaid, and David Paymer. His work in long-running animated series has made him a familiar voice to French audiences, most notably for his multiple roles in The Simpsons, including Moe Szyslak, Lenny Leonard, Groundskeeper Willie, Professor Frink, and Cletus, as well as for characters in South Park like Jimbo, Jimmy, and Mr. Mackey.
