OVA
Description
Conan Edogawa is the alias Shinichi Kudo adopted after the Black Organization forcibly administered the experimental poison APTX 4869, regressing his physical body to that of a six-year-old while retaining his intellect, memories, and deductive skills. Concealing his identity to pursue the organization, he lives with Ran Mouri and her father Kogoro, using their detective agency to find cases related to the group. His alias combines the names of mystery authors Arthur Conan Doyle and Edogawa Ranpo.

In the OVA *Conan Edogawa & Heiji Hattori versus Kid the Phantom Thief*, Conan investigates a diamond theft triggered by a blackmailer mistakenly calling the Mouri Detective Agency. Recognizing the blackmailer's voice closely resembles Heiji Hattori's, Conan teams up with Heiji to trace similar phone numbers and identify the culprit. Their probe uncovers a ransom payment for a stolen jewel later returned as a counterfeit. A vital clue arrives in a package sent to Kogoro: a limited-edition Yoko Okino alarm clock whose "Good morning!" greeting matches a voice from the blackmail call. Conan deduces the culprit is among the 200 recipients of this clock. A confrontation on a bridge follows, where the thief threatens to discard the genuine diamond. Kaitou Kid intervenes, securing the jewel and returning it.

Physically, Conan appears as a young child, approximately 95 cm tall, with dark brown hair and blue eyes. He often wears non-prescription glasses to mask his resemblance to Shinichi. His childlike stature limits physical strength, compensated for by gadgets from Professor Agasa, including enhanced kick shoes for subduing opponents and a voice-changing bowtie to impersonate adults during investigations. This bowtie is a signature accessory crucial to his deductions.

Personality-wise, Conan retains Shinichi's sharp intellect and deductive prowess, consciously adopting juvenile mannerisms like calling Ran "Ran-neechan" and feigning naiveté to avoid suspicion. During intense investigations, he occasionally slips into adult-like reasoning, attributing advanced insights to television or mentors like Kogoro or Agasa. He exhibits tenacity pursuing justice, especially against culprits endangering others, and displays strategic ingenuity when collaborating with allies such as Heiji. His rivalry with Kid the Phantom Thief features mutual respect and intellectual challenges, evident in their confrontations.

Beyond this OVA, Conan's encounters with Kid the Phantom Thief recur in media like the compilation film *Detective Conan vs. Kid the Phantom Thief*, featuring footage of their rooftop confrontations and teasing future clashes over an artifact in Hakodate. The *Identity V* game crossover also includes Conan as a playable character.
