Fuyumi Shiraishi was a Japanese actress, voice actress, and narrator born on October 14, 1936, in Beijing. Her birth name was Fumiko Shiraishi. She began her career in 1963 and remained active in the industry until her passing in 2019. She was affiliated with Ken Production at the time of her death, having previously been a member of Aoni Production.

Shiraishi was a highly prolific voice actress, particularly known for her work in anime during the 1960s and 1970s. One of her most recognized roles internationally was Mirai Yashima in the original Mobile Suit Gundam anime series, a role she reprised in numerous films and sequels, including Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam and Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack. She also voiced the character Katz Hawin in the Gundam franchise.

Her career was marked by iconic roles in many classic series. She played Akiko Hoshi, the sister of the protagonist in the popular baseball anime Kyojin no Hoshi. She was the voice of Ivan Whiskey, also known as Cyborg 001, in the 1968 version of Cyborg 009. Other significant roles included Doronpa in Obake no Q-Taro, Kasha Imhof in Space Runaway Ideon, Sachi in Ashita no Joe, and the titular character Pataliro in Patalliro!. She also took on leading roles in works by the famed duo Fujiko Fujio, such as Tarō Kaibutsu in Kaibutsu-kun and Perman No. 5 in Perman.

Beyond her work in anime, Shiraishi was also active as a narrator for various programs and was a radio personality. In addition to her performance work, she contributed to the industry as a teacher at the Tokyo Animator Gakuin, sharing her expertise with aspiring voice actors.

For her extensive contributions and lifetime of achievement, Fuyumi Shiraishi was honored with the Merit Award at the 9th Annual Seiyu Awards in 2015. Fuyumi Shiraishi passed away on March 26, 2019, at her home in Setagaya, Tokyo, due to ischemic heart failure at the age of 82.
