Ryoko Shiraishi is a Japanese voice actress and singer born on September 7, 1982, in Kashiba, Nara Prefecture. She has been active in the industry since 2002 and is affiliated with the talent management firm Aoni Production. Shiraishi is known for her distinct, husky vocal quality, which allows her to portray a wide range of characters, from young boys and teenagers to young women and girls. She is also skilled at speaking in the Osaka dialect, a talent she has utilized for several prominent roles.

Shiraishi began her career after graduating from the Aoni Juku training school in Osaka and made her debut in the 2002 anime series GetBackers. A significant milestone came in 2005 when she landed her first lead role as Ryūshi Shiratori in Mahoraba ~Heartful days~. Her career was propelled forward in 2007 when she was personally chosen by the original manga creator to voice the protagonist Hayate Ayasaki in the popular series Hayate the Combat Butler, a role that became one of her most iconic.

Throughout her career, Shiraishi has demonstrated remarkable versatility. She is equally adept at voicing energetic young male heroes like Gugu in To Your Eternity and Kai Ichinose in Forest of Piano, as well as strong female characters such as Hikage in the Senran Kagura series and Sora Takenouchi in Digimon Adventure:. Her ability to switch between genders and age groups is also evident in long-running franchises, where she voices Chocho Akimichi in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations and the dual roles of Devola & Popola in the Nier video game series. In addition to her anime work, Shiraishi is the exclusive Japanese dubbing voice for actress and singer Miley Cyrus in live-action projects.

Beyond voice acting, Shiraishi is also a singer and was a member of the voice acting unit Drops alongside Ai Nonaka, Akemi Kanda, Tomoko Kaneda, and Mariko Kōda. Her career faced a challenge in 2007 when she underwent throat surgery, which temporarily affected her ability to speak, but she successfully returned to work shortly after. With a career spanning over two decades, Ryoko Shiraishi remains a prominent and respected figure in the Japanese voice acting industry.
