Nozomi Yamamoto is a Japanese voice actress affiliated with the agency VIMS. She was born on August 9, 1988, in Misawa, Aomori Prefecture. Growing up as the eldest of five siblings in a family that ran a farm, she was surrounded by anime from a young age, influenced by her parents and aunt, and decided in the fifth grade that she wanted to become a voice actor. To pursue this dream, she moved to Tokyo for university and trained at the Japan Narration Acting Institute. Her professional debut came in 2010, and she has since built a diverse career in anime, video games, and music.

Yamamoto's career is marked by a wide range of roles across various series. One of her earliest and most notable leading roles was as the gender-confused club member Kusunoki Yukimura in the 2011 series My Friend Little (Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai), a role she reprised in its sequel. In 2012, she voiced the energetic and eccentric rakugo fan Tetora Bohatei in Joshiraku. That same year, she began her long-running role as Satoko Nakajima in the popular franchise Girls und Panzer. The year 2013 saw her take on the role of the sentient submarine I-402 in Arpeggio of Blue Steel -Ars Nova-.

The mid-2010s brought several high-profile and beloved characters. In 2014, she joined the massive idol franchise The IDOLM@STER, voicing the genki and aspirational younger sister Rika Jougasaki in Cinderella Girls, a character who would become one of her most iconic. She also played multiple characters in the PriPara series, including the stylish Cosmo Hojo. In 2015, she voiced the reserved sword-wielder Julie Sigtuna in Absolute Dual and the "pulp fiction"-loving Misora Whitale in Sky Wizards Academy. A recurring collaboration is with the Utawarerumono series, where she began voicing the bow-wielding girl Nosuri in Utawarerumono: The False Faces (2015) and continued in its sequel Mask of Truth and the subsequent anime adaptation. She also played the dedicated athlete Mashiro Arisaka in Aokana: Four Rhythm Across the Blue (2016).

Yamamoto's versatility is further demonstrated by a wide array of other roles. She provided the voice for the beautiful and mysterious Chizuru Tachibana in Why the Hell are You Here, Teacher!? (2019). She has been a part of popular franchises, voicing Akari Asagi in Gekidol, Kiryu-san in Gunma-chan, and the horse girl Yukino Bijin in Uma Musume Pretty Derby. In the world of action games, she voiced the playful shopkeeper Pardofelis in Honkai Impact 3rd. Her film work includes the zombie-fighting student Yumiya Akashima in Alice in Deadly School and roles in Wake Up, Girls! movies. She has also appeared in projects like Hypnosis Mic -Division Rap Battle- as Nemu Aohitsugi and voiced Estelle in Arknights.

Beyond acting, Yamamoto is also a singer. She has performed theme songs for several of her series, including the ending themes for Absolute Dual and, as part of the unit Zahre, the ending for Schwarzesmarken. She is a regular participant in music events for franchises like The IDOLM@STER. In 2020, she even launched a YouTube channel under the persona "MC Nojo" to explore her interest in rap and songwriting.

Yamamoto is known among fans for her distinctive personality and interests. She is famously an avid fan of gorillas, often visiting them at the zoo for relaxation and incorporating them into her public persona. In her personal life, she announced her marriage on January 1, 2020, and the birth of her first child in 2023.
