For two years, Wakana Kinme has run a small laundry service called Kinme Cleaning in the seaside resort town of Atami. Although she has no memory of her life before that time, she has built a peaceful and fulfilling existence, earning the admiration of locals for her devotion to her craft. Her business is more than just a chore; she treats each garment with care, believing that she is safeguarding the precious memories embedded in her customers’ belongings.

The story follows Wakana’s daily life as she interacts with the residents of this idyllic, slow-paced town. The central mystery of her amnesia lingers beneath the surface of her routines, as she admits that her love for cleaning is the only thing she did not forget. Her days are filled with visits to the local hot springs and conversations with a cast of recurring characters. These include Kyusho Ishimochi, a high school boy who is the son of a local innkeeper; Nairo Katakuchi, an inquisitive elementary school girl who becomes fascinated by Wakana’s work; and Asami Yagara, a friendly regular customer who becomes one of Wakana’s closest friends.

As the series progresses, narrative arcs explore how Wakana’s dedication to her work serves as both a comfort and a potential shield against her missing past. She begins to form deeper bonds with the community, such as when she mentors Nairo in stain removal or reluctantly agrees to social outings.
