Description
Hidden within the artwork of every Yu-Gi-Oh trading card is a story that players rarely see, and this series of animated shorts brings those narratives to life. Produced by Konami Animation, the monthly series expands on the official card game's original lore, showcasing themes that exist outside the familiar manga and anime storylines. The first story arc, Sky Striker Ace I, unfolds in a futuristic setting where a powerful empire has developed the Sky Striker, an advanced military technology capable of changing the course of any battle. A young pilot named Raye is entrusted with this weapon and repeatedly clashes on the battlefield with Roze, a girl from a hostile nation who wields equal power. As they fight, Raye begins to sense something more within her rival and becomes determined to free Roze, not to defeat her as a weapon but to meet her as a person.
The series then shifts to the larger fantasy narrative of The Fallen & The Virtuous, adapting the first part of a sprawling storyline that involves several interconnected card archetypes. This arc features characters such as Albaz, Ecclesia, and Fleurdelis, and spans the worlds of the Dogmatika, Tri-Brigade, Springans, and Branded themes. Additional planned arcs include a third story centered on the Charmer theme, while the project as a whole aims to cover a diverse range of card lore, from iconic monsters like Blue-Eyes and Exodia to modern favorites like the Evil Twin and Sinful Spoils archetypes. Each episode runs approximately four to six minutes, with new installments released periodically on the official Yu-Gi-Oh OCG YouTube channel.
