Yurika Kubo
Description
Yurika Kubo is a Japanese voice actress, singer, and model born on May 19, 1989, in Nara Prefecture, Japan. She is affiliated with the talent agency Stay Luck. Her common nickname is Shikaco, a reference to the deer for which her home prefecture is famous.
Kubo's career in the entertainment industry began in 2002 when she won the Grand Prix at the 6th Nicola model audition, starting as a fashion model. Over the following years, she transitioned through several agencies and worked under different stage names, including her real name, Yurika Kubo, and later Narahara Yurika, before settling on her current stage name in 2011. She began taking on voice acting roles around 2012. After a period as a freelancer, she joined Stay Luck in October 2019.
Kubo is widely recognized for her role as Hanayo Koizumi in the immensely popular Love Live! franchise, a part of the idol group μ's. With her fellow μ's members, she won the 9th Seiyu Award for Best Singing in 2015 and performed at the 66th NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen later that year. In addition to her work with the group, she launched a solo singing career in late 2015, releasing her debut single Lovely Lovely Strawberry in February 2016.
Her voice acting portfolio includes a wide variety of other notable roles. She voices Loki in the Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? series, Kaede Azusagawa in Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai and its subsequent films, and Kikyō Kushida in Classroom of the Elite. Other significant credits include Yūri in Girls' Last Tour, Pannibal in WorldEnd, Toa in Tsukimichi -Moonlit Fantasy-, and Rin Shiretoko in High School Fleet. She has also appeared in works such as A Certain Scientific Accelerator, The Fruit of Evolution, Peach Boy Riverside, and Cells at Work! Code Black.
Kubo has been recognized for her connection to her hometown, being appointed as a献血大使 (blood donation ambassador) for the Nara Prefecture Red Cross in 2016 and as a tourism ambassador for Nara City in 2017. She announced her marriage in July 2025.
