Description
"Burn Up Excess" is a 12-episode anime series set in a futuristic city where crime and chaos are rampant. The narrative centers around the Warrior Unit, an elite all-female police squad tasked with maintaining order. The team consists of Rio Kinezono, the hot-headed and impulsive leader; Maya Jingu, the calm and collected sniper; Lilica Ebett, the tech-savvy and cheerful hacker; and Nanvel, the stoic and mysterious driver. Each member brings unique skills to the team, and their dynamic is a blend of camaraderie and occasional friction.

The series opens with the Warrior Unit being assigned to protect a high-profile diplomat visiting the city. However, their mission quickly spirals into a larger conspiracy involving a secretive organization known as the Black Dolls, which is orchestrating a series of terrorist attacks. As the team investigates, they uncover a plot to destabilize the city’s government and seize control. The Black Dolls are revealed to be a group of genetically enhanced soldiers, posing a significant threat to the Warrior Unit and the city’s safety.

Throughout the series, the Warrior Unit faces numerous challenges, including internal conflicts, personal struggles, and the moral ambiguity of their missions. Rio’s impulsive nature often puts the team at risk, while Maya’s past as a former assassin comes to light, adding tension to her relationships. Lilica’s optimism and technical expertise provide a counterbalance to the group’s darker moments, and Nanvel’s enigmatic presence hints at a deeper backstory. The team’s interactions with their superiors, particularly the pragmatic Chief Yuji, further complicate their missions, as political agendas often clash with their sense of justice.

The plot builds toward a climactic confrontation with the Black Dolls, where the Warrior Unit must confront not only their enemies but also their own vulnerabilities. The series balances action-packed sequences with moments of character development, exploring themes of loyalty, sacrifice, and the cost of justice. While the narrative occasionally leans into comedic and fanservice elements, it maintains a focus on the team’s growth and their fight to protect the city. The conclusion ties up the central conflict while leaving room for the characters’ continued evolution, reflecting the series’ blend of action, humor, and drama.

The criminal group returns with reinforced firepower to steal the tiger, forcing the team into a street battle. 2Raid! Super Car Duel
The Warrior Team receives orders to intercept a heavily armored prototype vehicle hijacked by armed criminals. Rio pursues the vehicle on her motorcycle while Maki and Lorna provide air support in their helicopter. The criminals deploy automated turrets and explosive charges to disable pursuers, forcing Rio to navigate through collapsing road sections. Maki fires a grappling cable from the helicopter to slow the vehicle, but the criminals cut the cable with a laser mounted on the prototype. Lorna identifies the hijackers as former military engineers seeking to sell the vehicle’s weapons systems on the black market. Rio dismounts her motorcycle and boards the moving vehicle by leaping onto its rear deck. She engages the lead hijacker in close combat while Maki and Lorna disable the vehicle’s external weapons with synchronized gunfire. Rio throws the hijacker from the vehicle before it crashes into a harbor barrier, bringing the chase to an end. The team secures the prototype, but intercepted communications reveal a larger syndicate already planning a retaliatory strike against their headquarters.
3Episode 3
A group of killer drag queens, recently released from prison, target Nanvel's new optical makeover machine. This device can render the wearer beautiful or, at a higher setting, invisible. The drag queens kidnap Nanvel to force her to build the machine for their criminal operations. They also capture Rio, whom the drag queen leader calls Stephanie. Nanvel agrees to construct the device but demands a price: the drag queens must provide whatever food she desires. The drag queens struggle to keep up with Nanvel's endless requests for expensive meals. Eventually, they expel the person consuming all their resources without contributing. Rio uses the situation to take revenge on the drag queens for her capture. Following this incident, Maki assigns Team Warrior a new mission: escorting a top-secret tank codenamed Henry across the globe. The transport plane comes under attack, forcing Rio and the tank to crash-land alone in a hostile desert. With the tank as her only ally, Rio must navigate enemy territory and protect the advanced weapon from falling into the wrong hands.
4Episode 4
Team Warrior receives a mission to investigate a submerged offshore facility suspected of illegal activities. Rio,Maki, and Yuji deploy in their armored vehicles and penetrate the complex, which operates as a high-end resort with a hidden purpose. Inside, they encounter Marino, a young woman who appears disoriented and confined to the facility. The staff, led by a woman named Melissa, uses a combination of luxury and psychological manipulation to keep guests and personnel compliant. Rio discovers that Marino possesses a unique bio-electric ability that the facility’s management intends to exploit for controlling marine life. Maki engages in direct combat with security forces while Yuji provides technical support to disable the facility’s defensive systems. During the extraction, Marino’s powers manifest uncontrollably, threatening to flood the structure. Team Warrior works to contain the damage and evacuate Marino before the entire complex collapses. Melissa attempts to escape with critical research data but is intercepted by Maki. The team escapes as the facility sinks, and Marino is placed under protective custody. The episode closes with the team receiving a new assignment that points to a larger criminal network behind the resort’s operations.
5Episode 5
A stalker case draws Rio and Yuji to popular idol Kitagawa Anna. Rio arrives at the scene while Yuji conducts surveillance from a distance. The stalker closes in on Anna, but a mysterious woman also begins targeting the idol. Rio must protect Anna from two immediate threats operating simultaneously. The suspicious woman moves with clear intent, suggesting she is not acting alone. Evidence points to a larger, unnamed organization operating behind her. Rio works to uncover the stalker’s identity while also deducing the woman’s objective. Neither Rio nor Yuji can determine whether the stalker and the woman are connected or pursuing separate goals. The situation forces Rio to split her attention between guarding Anna and investigating both pursuers. By the episode’s end, the full scope of the organization behind the woman remains hidden, leaving Team Warrior unaware of the larger conspiracy still in motion.
6ランボ! ブラボ―! 利緒ビンボ―!
Rio Kinezono recalls her time at the police academy through an extended flashback. Cadet Rio fails every written exam and performs poorly in physical training due to her laziness and constant pursuit of easy money. Her academy friend Miyuki frequently covers for her,but Rio’s reckless attitude puts their joint field exercises at risk. During a routine patrol, Rio and Miyuki stumble upon an illegal arms transaction led by a criminal organization. Rio ignores standard procedures and engages the suspects directly, causing the operation to escalate into a city-wide chase. The confrontation damages public property and results in Rio’s expulsion from the standard police track. Commander Maki Kawasaki observes Rio’s raw fighting instincts and offers her a position in the special Warrior Team instead of dismissing her entirely. Rio accepts the offer as a way to pay off her mounting debts, securing her place in the unit. The flashback concludes with Rio returning to the present, still struggling with the same financial problems that defined her early career. The episode then sets up an imminent mission that threatens to add new expenses to her already overwhelming bills.
7Target: Crimson Sports Car
Team Warrior intercepts a syndicate smuggling operation in the city, targeting a shipment of illegal arms. Rio and Maki pursue the suspects in the team’s car, but the criminals counter with a heavily modified, armor-plated muscle car. The enemy vehicle rams Team Warrior’s sedan off the road, disabling it and allowing the syndicate to escape with the cargo. Maki becomes obsessed with the enemy car, identifying it as a custom "Striker" model built specifically for ramming and high-impact assaults. She pushes the team’s mechanic, Yuji, to rebuild their vehicle to match the Striker’s offensive capabilities, prioritizing armor and front-end reinforcement over speed. The team tracks the syndicate’s vehicle to a waterfront warehouse district where they are preparing to ship the weapons overseas. Maki engages the Striker driver in a one-on-one vehicle duel, using the rebuilt car’s reinforced frame to withstand the enemy’s attacks. She counters the Striker’s ramming tactic by forcing it into a narrow alley, stripping it of its mobility advantage. The Striker crashes, and Maki extracts the syndicate’s data drive containing their client list. Rio neutralizes the remaining guards, securing the weapons cache. As the police arrive to process the scene, Rio notes that the client list points to a powerful political figure with diplomatic immunity, setting up a confrontation that legal channels cannot resolve.
10Slam Tank Part 2
Rio escorts the experimental AI tank across the desert after the plane crash that stranded them in enemy territory. The hostile nation continues pursuing the vehicle, forcing Rio to defend it with limited supplies and no backup. Rio and the tank navigate the harsh landscape with dwindling food and water, increasing the tension of their border crossing. The tank exhibits a distinct personality, creating friction as Rio must cooperate with the machine to survive. Enemy forces launch direct assaults to reclaim the tank, pushing Rio into close-quarters combat and tactical driving sequences. Rio’s resourcefulness becomes the sole factor preventing the tank’s capture or destruction. The episode resolves the immediate chase as Rio successfully delivers the tank across the border. The conclusion restores the unit’s cohesion but leaves the larger conspiracy involving the tank’s creators and their motives unresolved, setting up continued confrontations with the shadowy organization behind the operation.
11Episode 11
Team Warrior members Rio Kinezono,Maki, and Lilica receive orders to intercept a transport convoy carrying experimental weaponry through the city. Rio identifies the convoy’s route and positions herself on an overpass while Maki and Lilica provide ground support. The convoy’s escort vehicles deploy countermeasures, forcing Rio to abandon her sniper position and engage in close-quarters combat. During the skirmish, a masked operative disables Rio’s vehicle and extracts the cargo container. Maki pursues the operative through industrial districts but loses the trail when the container is transferred to a VTOL aircraft. Back at base, Chief Asakura reveals that the stolen weapon is a prototype electromagnetic pulse device capable of disabling all electronic infrastructure within a fifty-kilometer radius. Intelligence reports link the theft to a private military contractor known to be operating in the region. Rio volunteers for a direct infiltration mission into the contractor’s offshore facility. The team launches under cover of darkness, breaching the facility’s outer perimeter through a submerged access tunnel. Inside, they discover multiple identical containers and a countdown timer set to activate the device at dawn. Rio splits from the group to locate the primary control room while Maki and Lilica begin disabling the decoy units.
12Episode 12
Rio Kijima surrenders to the criminal organization Nirvana, exchanging her freedom for the safety of her teammates. Maya Jingu, Yuji Naruo, and Maki Aikawa locate the facility where Rio is held and infiltrate it to extract her. Inside, Rio confronts the scientist who engineered her as an assassin, revealing that she was created as a weapon with implanted combat instincts. The organization intends to use her genetic template to mass-produce soldiers. Rio’s team fights through guards and automated defenses to reach her. A prototype clone of Rio activates and attacks, forcing Rio to engage her duplicate in combat. Rio overcomes the clone by exploiting her own training and emotional bonds, which the copy lacks. The facility’s self-destruct system initiates, and the team escapes with Rio moments before the building collapses. Rio acknowledges her past but chooses to remain with Team Warrior, accepting her identity on her own terms. The episode ends with the group preparing for a final confrontation against Nirvana’s leadership.
13Episode 13
The Warrior Section deploys to an abandoned industrial district after tracking the stolen military prototype’s signal. Rio engages the enemy commander in a one-on-one aerial battle while Maya and Lorna disable the base’s defensive systems from the ground. The commander reveals his motive: exposing corruption within the city’s administrative council. Rio rejects his methods and continues the attack despite sustaining damage to her vehicle. Lorna hacks the central control unit and overloads the power grid, causing a chain of explosions that collapse the facility. Maya rescues a group of technicians held hostage, ensuring their evacuation before the structure fully destabilizes. The commander escapes into a concealed hangar and launches a modified heavy armor unit. Rio abandons her damaged vehicle and pursues on foot, using her custom sidearm to disable the armor’s cooling system. The resulting explosion incapacitates the commander, and security forces arrive to detain him. The team receives commendations, but Rio voices concern over the council’s quick dismissal of the corruption evidence. The trio reassigns to a new district, where reports of a similar weapons smuggling network surface.
