Description
Meowth, a male Normal-type Pokémon, began life as a Hollywood stray scavenging for survival alongside a street gang commanded by a Persian. His path changed upon meeting Meowzie, a female Meowth whose rejection over his lack of human-like traits drove him to master bipedal walking and human speech in a futile bid for her approval. Branded a "freak" for his efforts, he joined Team Rocket, recalling "rocket" as his first human-learned word.

Partnered with Jessie and James, Meowth serves as their schemer and engineer, crafting gadgets to steal Pokémon—particularly Ash’s Pikachu. His self-taught speech and posture block his ability to learn Pay Day, forcing reliance on Fury Swipes. Though cunning and occasionally asserting authority, he defers to Jessie and harbors resentment toward Giovanni’s favored Persian.

Moonlit introspection contrasts Meowth’s loyalty to Team Rocket, revealing empathy shaped by his past: he comforts abandoned Pokémon and challenges abusive trainers. Romantic bids toward Skitty, Glameow, and others often collapse into humor.

In "Pikachu & Pichu," Meowth’s role as a window cleaner spirals into slapstick chaos when Pikachu accidentally hurls him into a billboard. Later, the Pichu Brothers’ escape sends him crashing again, cementing his comedic misfortunes.

Temporary arcs saw him exiled from Team Rocket in Unova, briefly deceiving Ash’s group before betrayal, and adopting a stern demeanor under Giovanni’s direct command—each phase ending with a return to his usual antics. A clone from "Pokémon: The First Movie," lacking his speech and posture, emphasized his unique traits.

Rejecting evolution to spite Persian, Meowth clings to his identity despite power costs. Encounters with regional variants, like an Alolan Meowth ally, reignite his insecurities and rivalry, underscoring his unyielding defiance.
