Description
Doraemon is a robotic cat created in the 22nd century, specifically manufactured on September 3, 2112, at the Matsushiba Robot Factory as model MS-903. An electrical malfunction during his production dislodged a critical screw, resulting in subpar performance that classified him as an inferior model. This led to his adoption by the financially struggling Nobi family. His appearance features a blue body with white facial features, hands, and feet, a red tail, and a distinctive four-dimensional pocket on his abdomen. His blue color originated from the loss of his original yellow paint; this occurred after intense crying following the traumatic loss of his ears to robotic mice. A subsequent failed surgical procedure left him bald and instilled a profound, enduring fear of mice.

He possesses robotic capabilities including infrared vision for seeing in darkness and auditory sensors that function despite his missing ears. His tail acts as an emergency power switch, while his four-dimensional pocket accesses a vast repository of futuristic gadgets from an extradimensional warehouse. These gadgets include tools like the "Anywhere Door" for instantaneous travel and the "Evolution Ray" for accelerating biological development. His capabilities can be hindered by disorganization within the pocket, sometimes causing retrieval errors during urgent situations. He consumes food like dorayaki (red bean pancakes), converted into energy by an internal nuclear furnace.

Personality-wise, Doraemon exhibits impatience and occasional irritability, particularly when mistaken for a raccoon dog or criticized for his capabilities. Despite this, he demonstrates consistent loyalty and protectiveness toward Nobita Nobi, the boy he was sent to assist. His commitment is evident in deploying gadgets to resolve Nobita’s problems, though their misuse often leads to unintended complications. In the narrative of "Doraemon and Itchy the Stray," Doraemon supports Nobita’s efforts to rescue and relocate a stray dog named Ichi. This includes facilitating the transportation of Ichi and other strays to a distant past era using the "Anywhere Door" and "Evolution Ray," enabling them to establish an independent society. His involvement underscores his role as a solution facilitator, though outcomes depend on Nobita’s actions.

Doraemon maintains significant relationships. His central bond with Nobita involves a dynamic of reliance and mutual growth—Nobita seeks Doraemon’s aid for immediate problems, while Doraemon’s interventions aim to foster long-term improvement. He shares a close familial connection with his sister, Dorami, a newer robot model who occasionally assists or critiques his methods. His interactions extend to friendships with Shizuka Minamoto, Takeshi "Gian" Goda, and Suneo Honekawa, often involving mediating conflicts or mitigating the bullying Nobita endures from Gian and Suneo.
