Description
Manufactured on September 3, 2112, at the Matsushiba Robot Factory as model MS-903, Doraemon suffered a production defect when an electrical bolt struck during assembly, resulting in subpar performance. After Sewashi Nobi purchased him, robotic mice damaged his ears, causing severe musophobia. A failed surgery left him bald, and later, while depressed, exposure to the "Potion of Sadness" washed away his original yellow paint, revealing his current blue coloration and deepening his vocal tone.

His durable body resists deformation, though biological agents and extreme temperatures affect his sensory systems. He lacks ears, possesses a red tail serving as a power lever, and features a four-dimensional pocket on his abdomen for storing futuristic gadgets. His hardened head functions as an effective weapon or tool, a characteristic shared by members of The Doraemons group (also known as Dora Dora Seven DD7). This group comprises seven robotic cats who graduated together from the Robot School and maintain contact via the "Friendship Telecard".

Doraemon primarily consumes dorayaki, converted into energy by his internal nuclear furnace; his oral structure allows for consuming large quantities. While dorayaki is his favorite, he also eats watermelon, pudding, tea, juice, and cakes. He exhibits strong attachments to other cats, often unrequited. Mistaken identity as a raccoon dog or encounters with mice trigger intense reactions, sometimes causing him to panic and retrieve inappropriate gadgets. He also experiences iatrophobia, particularly regarding mandatory robot check-ups.

Within The Doraemons, Doraemon frequently leads due to his moderate and optimistic disposition, utilizing his hardened head in signature attacks. The group includes Dora-the-Kid (a Texas sheriff), Wang Dora (a Chinese kung fu practitioner), Dora-med III (an Arabian royal consultant skilled in magic), and Dora-nichov (a taciturn Russian actor capable of wolf transformation). Each member possesses unique four-dimensional storage variations and preferences for seasoned dorayaki.

His core mission involves traveling from the 22nd century to aid Nobita Nobi, Sewashi's ancestor, to improve the Nobi family's future. Their relationship is one of mutual dependence and deep friendship. Doraemon employs futuristic gadgets to assist Nobita despite his academic struggles, laziness, and clumsiness, valuing Nobita's inherent kindness and empathy. Doraemon maintains a close relationship with his sister, Dorami, who occasionally critiques his methods with Nobita and ensures he undergoes necessary maintenance.

The name "Doraemon" combines "dora" (from "nora neko," meaning stray cat) and the suffix "-emon." His creation stemmed from a series of inspirations involving a desire for an idea-generating machine, tripping over a toy, and hearing neighborhood cats, embodying themes of perseverance and technological optimism within everyday challenges.
