Shun Horie
Description
Shun Horie is a Japanese voice actor and singer born on May 25, 1993, in Osaka Prefecture, Japan. He is affiliated with the talent agency Raccoon Dog and is also a member of the music unit SparQlew. He is sometimes referred to by the nickname Horieru.
Horie's journey to becoming a voice actor was inspired by his admiration for fellow voice actor Wataru Takagi, particularly Takagi's ability to portray both adult and child characters within a single work. To pursue this goal, he enrolled in the Pro-Fit voice actor training school in October 2013 while also working part-time jobs to support his education. After graduating from the training school in October 2014 and later from university in March 2016, he became an official member of Pro-Fit. Following the closure of Pro-Fit's management division in March 2022, he moved to his current agency, Raccoon Dog.
In 2018, Horie received the Best New Actor Award at the 12th Seiyu Awards, a significant recognition of his emerging talent and versatility in the industry. His career as a singer began in earnest in 2017, and he started his professional music activities in 2019 as a vocalist for the unit SparQlew under the Kiramune music label.
Horie has built an extensive and diverse portfolio of anime roles since his debut. He is known for lending his voice to a wide range of characters, often described as having a smooth vocal pitch well-suited for soft-spoken male roles. Some of his most prominent and notable lead roles include Kazuya Kinoshita in Rent-A-Girlfriend, Kyotaro Ichikawa in The Dangers in My Heart, the male protagonist Aether in the game Genshin Impact, and Enta Jinnai in Sarazanmai. He also voiced the dual role of Schlain Zagan Analeit and Shunsuke Yamada in So I'm a Spider, So What?, Leo Constantine Pinochle in High Card, and the Hacker in Akudama Drive.
His filmography is extensive, encompassing numerous other series across various genres. He has played characters such as Kanpei Kuroda in Aoashi, Robin Laffite in Visual Prison, Aruto Fushibe in D_Cide Traumerei the Animation, Sakura Kagurazaka in Eternal Boys, Migi in Migi & Dali, and Kazuki Yoshino in Phantom of the Idol. His work also includes roles in long-running and popular franchises, like Trox in the Bakugan series, George Glooman in Spy x Family, Amethio in Pokémon Horizons: The Series, and Yohane Asakura in Shaman King Flowers. Beyond these, his career features a vast array of other credits, including Satou Pendragon in Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody, Tsugiyoshi Sumino in Juni Taisen: Zodiac War, Letty in Dragon Goes House-Hunting, Pierre in The Idolmaster SideM, Hiroto Yasaka in My Roommate is a Cat, and Shuhei Nakamura in Salaryman's Club. His work is not limited to television anime; he has also voiced characters in original net animations like Chōyū Sekai: Being the Reality, in video games such as Fire Emblem: Three Houses as Linhardt, and in Japanese dubs of foreign films, including Pugsley Addams in The Addams Family films.
