Manaka Iwami
Description
Manaka Iwami is a Japanese voice actress born on April 30, 1998, in Saitama Prefecture. She is affiliated with the talent agency Raccoon Dog. Her journey into voice acting began in middle school, inspired by the performance of actress Ai Kayano in the anime series Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day. This motivated her to pursue a career in the industry, leading her to enroll in the Pro-Fit Voice Actor's Training School.
Iwami's professional career started in 2016 when she was cast in her first major role as the protagonist Maquia in the film Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms. Although the film was released in 2018, this marked her entry into the industry. Her first on-screen appearance came in 2017 with a role in the television anime Tsuki ga Kirei.
She has since built an extensive and diverse portfolio of roles across anime television series, films, and video games. She is known for her versatility, often portraying characters with a gentle or earnest disposition. Some of her most prominent and recurring roles include Tohru Honda in the Fruits Basket reboot series, a part she played across multiple seasons and films, solidifying her association with the beloved character. She has also taken on leading roles such as Mahiru Shiina in The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten, Euphyllia Magenta in The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady, and Akane Kurokawa in the hit series Oshi no Ko.
Beyond these, Iwami has contributed her voice to a wide array of characters, demonstrating her range. These include Millie in Spy×Family, Exusiai in Arknights: Prelude to Dawn, Asumi Suidō in Tokyo 24th Ward, Efil in Black Summoner, Riiri in The Dawn of the Witch, and Rice Shower in Uma Musume Pretty Derby Season 2. Her filmography also features roles in long-running franchises like Overlord IV, Cells at Work!!, and Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation, as well as series like The Executioner and Her Way of Life, To Your Eternity, and Romantic Killer. Her work extends to video games, where she is the Japanese voice of Amber in Genshin Impact, Ingrid in Fire Emblem: Three Houses, and Bridget in Guilty Gear Strive, among many others.
In addition to acting, Iwami has performed theme songs for several of her anime projects, including The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten, The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess, and RPG Real Estate.
Her talent has been recognized with significant industry awards. In 2019, she won the Best New Actress Award at the 13th Seiyu Awards. She later received the Best Supporting Actress Award at the 18th Seiyu Awards in 2024, further cementing her status as a prominent figure in the voice acting community.
