Description
"BEM: BECOME HUMAN" is a 12-episode anime series that serves as a reimagining of the classic "Humanoid Monster Bem" franchise. Set in the fictional city of Libra, the story explores themes of identity, prejudice, and the struggle for coexistence between humans and supernatural beings. The narrative centers on three humanoid monsters—Bem, Bela, and Belo—who, despite their monstrous appearances, strive to protect humans from malevolent entities known as "Ajin." These Ajin are supernatural creatures that prey on humans, often exploiting their fears and weaknesses.

Bem, the stoic and determined leader of the trio, embodies a strong sense of justice and a desire to bridge the gap between humans and monsters. Bela, the compassionate and empathetic member, often serves as the emotional core of the group, while Belo, the youngest and most impulsive, struggles with his identity and the rejection he faces from humans. Together, they navigate a world where humans view them with fear and hostility, even as they risk their lives to protect them.

The series delves into the origins of the trio, revealing their tragic pasts and the circumstances that led them to become humanoid monsters. Bem, in particular, is haunted by memories of his human life and the loss of his family, which fuels his resolve to protect humanity despite their prejudice. The narrative also introduces Sonia Summers, a human detective who becomes entangled in the trio's mission. Sonia's skepticism toward the Ajin gradually shifts as she witnesses their sacrifices and the complexities of their existence.

As the story progresses, the trio faces increasingly powerful Ajin, each representing different facets of human vice and corruption. These encounters force Bem, Bela, and Belo to confront their own inner struggles and the harsh realities of their existence. The series culminates in a climactic battle that tests their resolve and challenges the societal divide between humans and monsters. Through its exploration of morality, redemption, and the desire for acceptance, "BEM: BECOME HUMAN" presents a thought-provoking narrative that reinterprets the classic monster-hero archetype for a modern audience.
